Hypocrisy in Surveillance

Posted on 2013-07-03 by inextricableone

Since the NSA surveillance revelations, many government leaders have argued that it is reasonable to spy on all Americans. I guess we cannot be trusted. They are suspicious of our motives. They have reason to be, seeing how low Congressional approval ratings are.

As is often the case, we demand that Congress endure the same hardships that they ask of us.

If transparency in all activities is so valuable, then it should to Congress. Let’s have cameras in all Congressional offices. Let’s monitor the meetings and phone calls of every one of them. Published on the Internet.

This should extend to all corporations, government contractors along with all others.

I don’t trust any of them. We should be data mining Congress for their conversations about how they will victimize citizens.

The Tower

O may the moon and sunlight seem One inextricable beam,

For if I triumph I must make men mad.
